FTP (FILE TRANSFER PROTOCOL)

• FTP is use as a tool for retrieving and tranferring file from a remote computer
• FTP a standard Internet protocol, is the simplest way to exchange files between computers on the Internet.
• FTP is a file transfer protocol for exchanging and manipulating files over a TCP computer network. An FTP client may connect to an FTP server to manipulate files on that server.
• You'll use anonymous FTP to download software from computers where you do not personally have an account.
• Downloading files with your web browser is certainly the easiest way to use FTP, although it does have its limitations.
• FTP site is like a large filing cabinet. With a traditional filing cabinet, the person who does the filing has the option to label and organize the files how ever they see fit.
